Pick Up the Phone. Leave a Memory.

Audio Guest Book telephone set up at an event

A photograph can take you straight back to a moment. A voice brings something else: the way someone says your name, the laugh halfway through a story, the familiar words they always use.

Our Audio Guest Book gives those little things a place in your celebration. It is a vintage-style telephone that lets guests leave a recorded message for you. Pick up the receiver, leave a few words and give the hosts something personal to listen to afterwards.

A few words can mean a lot

Imagine hearing your parents' wishes after your wedding, a grandparent telling a favourite family story, or your friends trying to get through a birthday message without making each other laugh.

The message does not need to be polished. A short, sincere wish can be just as lovely as a long story. A pause, a giggle or an unexpected bit of advice makes it sound like the person you know. That is what makes a voice message worth keeping.

Lift the receiver. Leave your message.

The idea is simple: guests pick up the phone, wait for the tone, say their message and hang up when they are finished. A clear sign beside the telephone helps explain what to do, so nobody needs to wonder whether they should dial a number.

Place it somewhere easy to notice, with enough quiet for a conversation. A small table near a lounge area can work well. Keep it away from the speakers, and ask your MC to mention it so guests know the phone is there for them to use.

“What should I say?”

For anyone who goes blank as soon as they pick up, a little prompt helps. You could invite guests to answer one of these:

  • At a wedding: “What is your favourite memory of us?”
  • For a birthday: “Tell me a story that still makes you smile.”
  • For an anniversary: “What do you wish for our next chapter?”
  • For any celebration: “Say your name and leave us a little love.”

Let people keep it light or heartfelt. There is room for both. The best messages are the ones that sound like your guests, in their own words.

A face to go with the voice

Pair the telephone with a photo booth and you have two different ways to remember the same people: a photograph to hold and a message to hear. Guests can leave their wishes, then head over for a picture together.

If you are planning a wedding, our article on photo booths as wedding favours explores the printed keepsake side of the celebration. The Audio Guest Book adds that familiar voice alongside it.
